A spiritual cousin to Standing Still In A Storm, this oil-based series is inspired just as much by the art of Agnes Martin as it is the idea of meditation. As it stands, it is still in the early phases of development—much the way …Storm took years of work to develop conceptually and aesthetically alongside its personal relevance, these are still in the infant stages of exploration.

Currently, these take too long between the layers of pigment setting to be realized as a way to unfocus and simply exist with the work. The precision of ruled linework and the choices that need to be made with color are distancing from the goal of clarity. I can see why Martin worked with specific palettes.

Still, this is a learning experience for now, and with the results of these initial concepts, I am eager to see what direction it heads.
